      A sweet story - Updated

When I was a young teenager I spent the summers in West Virginia with my grandparent and aunt and uncle. There was a boy there that was my first real boyfriend, George. We would walk to the movies and have a coke at the drug store and do a lot of kissing. He was a perfect gentleman and had the softest lips.

I have thought about George often over the years and even would occasionally dream about him (even when I hadn't been thinking about him).

My husband passed away a year ago and I saw
in the local paper from Wv. that George's wife passed away in Nov. I had always remembered George's birthday Aug 23, because my dad's was Aug 9th and my mother's Aug 16th; each a week apart. I sent him a birthday card and a note telling him who I was and that I would like to see him sometime. He called me and I went down
(I live in Ohio) Aug. 28.

It has been at least 50 years since we have seen each other; he is 68 and I am 64. His lips are just as soft as I remember and he is just as nice. We talk on the phone every night and see each other about once a week.

I don't know where this will all lead, but
I am so happy!! I think God meant for us to get together again and that is why I always had him in my dreams.

Just remember it is never too late for romance.

I submitted "A Sweet Story" eight months ago about how I got reunited with my first boyfriend, who I hadn't seen in about 50 years.

We were married April 27, 2003!! We had our wedding on Sunday morning following the worship service. There were 262 people at the wedding; the biggest wedding this small town had ever seen..... of course, we had a captive audience since they were already there for the Sunday morning church service. The ladies of the church decorated the tables and brought covered dishes for the reception. People said it was the best food they had ever had at a reception. (You can't beat that southern cooking!)

I really think our marriage is made in heaven; to find each other after all these years. We are so happy!! I hope we live a long time, so we will have a lot of time together.
